FVS-AMADE has created small savings and credit associations in the villages. We call our solidarity groups “Nawe Nuze" which means "Come, you too" in English.

The biggest difference between our groups and other solidarity groups is that the majority of the people in our Solidarity Groups(SG) are between 30-45 members in each group, and each group have adopted orphans and all are committed to helping them.

These groups meet every week to set aside money for three specific purposes including school supplies for the orphans, a fund to loan for small businesses, and an emergency fund.

These groups are the foundation of our work, through them, we are able to provide a wide variety of other programs, including a Microfinance Institution, the Child Protection Committee (CPC), Community Health-Based Insurance, family planning, HIV/awareness, Project of the barns as well as a social enterprise; the Center for Entrepreneurship Promotion and Solidarity( CEPS) create by the FVS-AMADE Burundi whose project "light" which has been put in place for the purpose of giving an alternative of light to people who do not have access to electricity.

Recently, Fvs-Amade has had the honor to be visited by Mr. Bo Viktor Nylund, the New Representative of UNICEF in Burundi freshly arrived in the country.

The visited solidarity group "Komez'Urukundo" located in Nyanza Lac Commune supports 28 0rphans and other Vulnerable Children.

The visitors found them in their spirit, making their weekly session saving and credit "Nawe n’ uze" during which members of the solidarity group guardians pooling their savings in order to prepare and buy school supplies for orphans in the August month of the next year for School Supply.

The Duru Lights also did business purpose and the recipients have had the pleasure to witness the benefits of lamps that allow their children to study in better conditions and to mothers preparing food in better conditions.

UNICEF's Representative took the opportunity to talk with members of child welfare committees and encourage them in their noble work.

We sincerely thank UNICEF for support provided in different projects including the project "light" .
