Born on Musave hill of Makebuko town in the province of Gitega, Budodero Samuel experienced a difficult childhood.  His parents had died when he was only 8 years. He lived with his paternal grandmother whom mistreated him on the bright incentives of his uncles who did not want him to grow up at home fearing that later he would claim his inheritance. These relatives were unwilling to feed him, dress properly or worse give him school supplies.

Hence, he left school to be forced to only keep cattle for his grandmother.  Later, she decided to put him away from the house and stay in the barn with goats. Unfortunately, people in the community did not dare to report the violation of Samuel's rights.

Having learned this incredible story via the members of the Child Protection Committee (CPC) hill set up,  Samuel’s case was brought to light in 2006 to Fvs-Amade, by the coordination of the Gitega antenna involved, the investigation started.

Early in the morning the Coordinator and the Legal Assistant of the Gitega antenna went to the household of Samuel’s grandmother to realize the facts mentioned "especially sleeping with goats!” were all true, the reality was confirmed.

Faced with such a situation the Coordination organized a meeting with all members of CPE of the hill, the local administration, the uncles and grandmother to put to light this situation and find solutions relating.

The first decision was his academic reintegration which was retained as a priority.  Samuel went back to school with school kits provided  via the "NZOKIRA" program it Fs-Amade was executing.

Meanwhile, it was a long legal procedure of 2 years for the acquisition of his inheritance, where he had the right to rent his property rightfully to meet basic needs that he often needed.

During his studies, he was characterized by a gloss by receiving good marks in national competition. Afterwards, the Fvs-Amade Coordination in Gitega sought a place into the Gitega high school a boarding school, where he has just received his diploma in modern literature.

On this, follow ups was done by members of the CPC and especially members of solidarity groups in charge OVC practicing the approach of "Nawe n’uze”.

The Coordination of the Gitega antenna participated in the great moments of his ceremonies for his graduation.

"What a Great surprise for Samuel Budodero to soon find himself in college!!!!”
