Elvis and Fiston

Elvis and Fiston grew up in Ruziba, a neighborhood in South Bujumbura. The two brothers are now 15 and 12 years old and not long ago, they were not living with their parents. Bad company brought them into Bujumbura streets life. Soon, they were imprisoned after a police raid. FVS-AMADE BURUNDI and Ruziba Children’s Rights Committee recently reintegrated the two boys in their family.

At their arrival, the brothers broke down in tears as they were surprised to have a warm welcome after running from home.Their mother and little sisters were also crying, not believing that the boys were still alive. While the parents were making their best to raise them, the brothers dropped school and ran from home. This reintegration isn’t their first one as the STAMM Foundation already took them back home before.

To prevent a recurrence, FVS-AMADE BURUNDI accepted to help Elvis and Fiston to get back to school and offered them school kits. The Ruziba Children’s Rights Committee inserted the two brothers in the list of orphans and other vulnerable children supported by the solidarity groups.
