FVS-AMADE Burundi has been involved since 1992 in supporting orphans and other vulnerable children (OVC). Since 2014, the solidarity groups led by FVS-AMADE Burundi have become autonomous and are able to come to the aid of OVCs without the support of FVS-AMADE Burundi.
August 3rd, 2018, as every year since 2014, the solidarity groups of the MUHA commune, Kanyosha zone, which are in the savings and credit system called "Nawenuze", distributed school kits to 1822 primary and secondary school pupils and studends. These school kits worth 13 million. 25 solidarity groups of kanyosha pooled their means to buy 24.000 notebooks and 2200 pens. These kits are composed of 10 to 25 notebooks and 1 to 2 pens.
It was in a festive atmosphere that the school kits distribution ceremonies took place in the presence of the legal representative of FVS-AMADE Burundi, the socio-cultural adviser of the Bujumbura town hall, the municipal director of education, the representative of the Muha commune, as well as the district chiefs of Kanyosha zone.
This act of love is a motivation for these children but also a light weight for their parents or guardian whose precarious situation does not allow them to meet this need.
