Community solidarity at its best

For the third year, FVS-AMADE BURUNDI is proud to see that the Nawe N'Uze approach allowed the solidarity groups to provide 100% of the Orphans and other Vulnerable Children's (OVC) school kits. Despite economic difficulties many burundian families are enduring, the solidarity groups members stuck to their commitment towards the vulnerable children in their community. This year, 1,481 solidarity groups offered school kits to 42,753 Orphans and other Vulnerable Children (40,287 in 2015) for a total of USD 134,667.53 . In July, FVS-AMADE BURUNDI launched its branch in Mwaro and there are already 11 solidarity groups which managed to offer school kits to 397 OVC. Against all odds, Nawe N'Uze is bringing back the solidarity value into the communities and most all, it is proving that everyone can make some efforts to improve his life's conditions.

Magnifique (left on the picture) is an adolescent whose parents died many years ago. She lived in close relatives houses but they all mistreat and even chased her. Marie, a member of the Kanyosha Children Rights Committee was a friend of Magnifique's parents. She is a widow with 5 children and regardless of the challenges of providing for the whole family needs, she has welcomed Magnifique,The young girl regularly receives school kits. It gives to Magnifique the strength to study as she feels supported by the whole community.
